1934 In 1934 Ted Smith formed a partnership that was to create a lasting legacy, joining the manufacturers of Paragon shoes Davison in Collingwood and creating the name that we recognize today - MILADY.
Ted's daughter and son in law, Penny Ralph Adam, took charge in 1978 introducing clothing to their already successful shoe stores.
Together they built up to a chain into nine stores including Burke Road, Camberwell.
The Camberwell store traded for an amazing 45 years before closing its doors in 2010.
Penny and Ralph are now retired and residing in Mt Eliza, leaving the running of their Mornington Wow, what a great day at the Mornington Cup this year.
For me it s all about the fashion I didn t even see a horse and as a gold sponsor of the Fashions on the Field I donated over 2,500 worth of prizes and many other local businesses contributed to the 70,000 of prizes up for grabs.
A big congratulations must go to the organisation of the event which was beautifully slick.
No one knows who the judges will choose on the day but there is great fun in having an opportunity to dress up and be part of the spectacle.
Over the last few years some men who have won or placed in the Best Dressed Man and Couples events at Mornington and other Melbourne races have bought their outfits from Mickey Blue.

In 1911 half a world away Wilhelm Minzenmay after successfully finishing a watchmaking traineeship in Germany began his business in a small room in his father s house repairing watches.
As the business flourished the small room was upgraded to a 3 storey shop and workshop selling Diamonds, Jewellery, Pocket Watches and Clocks.
The outbreak of WWII saw Wilhelm and his wife Maria together with their two young sons relocated to Australia and settled in Mornington.
Wilhelm s talents and experience was in high demand.
Over the years with the help of his two sons he built a new shop where they sold Jewels, Clocks, Pocket Watches and Wristwatches.
The supply of these was only very small compared to the demand, thus whenever new stock arrived it invariably sold the next day.
Today when you enter Minzenmay in Mornington and the new addition Minzenmay Moda in Frankston you ll see a glittering range of superb jewellery from Pandora, Ole Our Brands include store in the hands of a dedicated team of local girls - ready to share their love and enthusiasm for fashion with you.
