Practioner How Are You Doing With Your New Years Resolutions -Have you made it to the gym the number of days you said you would -Have you said no thanks to the dessert at the end of the meal -Did you buy one less pair of shoes -What about your financial goals and what about that promise you made to your conscience to get your financial affairs finally sorted If you did commit at least in theory to get things sorted, you belong to a very large group of women who vow to take better control of their finances every year.
Many intelligent and savvy women tend to put their finances in the too hard basket and leave it until a crisis arises.
Often they suddenly find themselves looking after a sick parent and having to help with their finances, getting divorced, dealing with the death of a spouse, receiving an inheritance or redundancy and finally, approaching retirement when the paycheques stop.
Surprisingly, most people spend more time planning their yearly holiday than on their finances This is one area where the Aussie she ll be right attitude does NOT belong.
In many households, it s the women who are the planners dealing with schooling, meals, laundry, travel, weekends sports etc.
The list is long of women who thought everything was sorted as their partner was in charge of all that .
But what happens when it is not all sorted If there is no plan in place, it is illogical that things will turn out well and she ll be right .
As with anything, Step 1 is understanding the basics.
It s not really complicated.
You can decide what is important and what s not.
You need to make smart decisions that suit you and your family.
Don t delay any longer Procrastination is the enemy, not the subject matter.
Imagine how good you ll feel once you have a well crafted plan that you helped create Join Tricia Hill of Life Solutions Financial Advisers, in Mornington for a free series of workshops.
