healthand beauty ok, it is Winter and it is cold, but look on the brighter side there are now only 12 weeks until Spring making it just around the corner - no time for hibernation.
In this issue GL has allowed me to include an editorial on different ways to get back into exercising, and I highly recommend Active Boxing for a place to begin as they have women's only boxing groups, a great place to get started and enjoy.
While we don t have social event after social event, now is the perfect time to catch up with your besties and hit a day spa.
There are plenty right here on the Peninsula including Peninsula Life Medi Spa which has just opened their second boutique salon in Sorrento, so grab the girls and head down to Sorrento for a fun yet relaxing day.

Practioner Starting out...
A Journey into the Fitness Industry I will be writing about all aspects of the road to a fit, healthy, happy lifestyle.
I, like many, have also said the words I need to start exercising, again which brings me to the 1st topic - start exercising.
We don t often quit, it's just our busy schedules take priority and it is back to I need to start exercising again.
sigh...
So to get started, AGAIN, here are a few different ways to get you up and going.
Find a personal trainer.
This will make you dedicate at least one hour a week to exercise.
A good personal trainer should show you a range of different styles of exercise, which will help find something you enjoy.
They should also help you set goals, and give you an exercise routine outside of your sessions to help you reach your goal.
If you already have a PT, let them know if you are losing motivation and they should spice things up.
Join a specialized group.
At the moment, boxercise is very popular and it is a great cardio strength workout that releases loads of stress and there are many groups that can get you started.
Some of the smaller gyms can organise training sessions with other people who have the same interests as you which can make training sessions a little cheaper and heaps of fun.
Join a club and play a team sport, and include 1 or 2 training session to help improve your skills in that sport.
Plan it out Put in your diary when you re exercising and what you re doing and for how long for.
It then becomes a part of your schedule and you will be less likely to forget. It is all about commitment- a commitment to a healthier you.
I would love to answer any questions, please email them through to melissa visitor.com.au.
Intentions, dreams and desires the essence of you There is only one person who could ever make you happy, and that person is you.
- David Burns Most of us dream dreams we d like to realise and make wishes about things we d like to change or do differently.
What do you do about your dreams and wishes Are you full of good intentions but so busy and think the change is too huge and overwhelming, so much so, that you never quite get around to doing anything about them.
We often convince ourselves with excuses no time, no support, no money or we just don t know how to think and go about getting what we want.
Did you know- your excuses determine your results.
While ever you remain locked in the pattern of wishing, waiting and hoping nothing will change Change your thoughts and you change your world.
- Norman Vincent Peele The starting point for any change is to know what you want and where you are currently.
Set aside fifteen minutes for some personal reflection.
Sit down quietly and fast forward your life.
Imagine it is your eightieth birthday.
You are celebrating with family and friends.
Take some time now to review your life as the 80-year-old you.
What have you achieved in your life What do you feel proud of What is it about you that people value What are the most significant things that you are celebrating Let s start the ball rolling towards achieving your dreams.
Create a vision the big picture of the life you are aiming for.
Take yourself off to a quiet place such as a garden seat or the sea shore.
A vision is an inspiring way of looking to your future.
It gives you the opportunity to focus on what is important to you.
As Carl Jung wrote Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.
Who looks outside, dreams who looks inside awakens.
Now you have a vision, set SMART goals specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time framed .
Make your goals Specific -detail what you want and where possible quantify each goal.
Measure and monitor your progress regularly.
Achievable - setting goals too high can lead to disappointment and discouragement whilst setting goals too low won t stretch you enough.
To win- aim for a stretch and build your momentum towards achieving them Realistic - To say you will win tattslotto is not realistic What is realistic and possible.
Time-framed -When do you want to achieve this by Check your goals are genuine.
Are your goals in alignment with who you are and what you really want These must be your goals, not what someone thinks you should do or have.
Does this goal keep me moving towards who I want to be Are my goals in alignment with my values Do my goals truly come from my heart and not just my head The next step is to identify the big benefit to you as you achieve each goal.
Ask yourself, If I achieve this, what will it give me When you have written you list, put it where you can look at it regularly- in your journal, on the bathroom mirror or the fridge door.
A personal coach is a powerful strategy to help you gain focus, take action and build momentum assisting you to believe in yourself, to overcome self imposed obstacles, to change your beliefs about yourself, open your mind to what s possible and supporting you to take the steps towards achieving dreams and experience the thrill of success.
