fashion peninsula style Time to Unwrap...
with Annette Sanfilippo I get very excited by a season change.
It s a good excuse to try something new and reinvent your look for a new you Fashion should be fun and tis the season to be .whatever you want It s all about tassels, baubles and beads which sound like you are about to decorate your Christmas tree but summer 2012 is about fun accessories and adorning yourself.
Another fabulous spring season has come to an end and I had so many events, race meets and charity functions that I am looking forward to a quieter summer season.
With funds raised, clients happy and I might add quite a few able to display a few race fashion winning sashes, I am ready for a different kind of glamour dressing.
Congratulations to all and for more join my facebook page Annette Sanfilippo Millinery Art facebook and watch this space as there will be announcements on some very exciting news for fashionistas on the Peninsula very soon.
Designers are playing with quirky additions to spice up simple sundress shapes and the ever popular summer staples.
Contemporary dressing is all about ease and style and this season is going to reflect the off beat uniqueness of individuality.
Pick a favorite iconic era and be inventive Colour shape and patterns are diverse so you can enjoy exploring the styles to find what suits you.
Everything from maxi dresses to mini s are saturating the boutiques and with trends leaning to Aztec pop art prints, abundance of colour and bold accessories its no wonder many designers are taking strong inspiration from the 60 s.
Even guys get into picture with stove pipe pants and Capri looks taking over.
Even bouffant hairdo s are making a comeback and it may be time to carry a can of trusty hairspray in your handbag again GoGo, Bardot, and beachcomber babe looks will be popping up from resort wear through to party dressing and after five.
The beauty of the sixties style is in the attention to the female form like paneled A line and princess line cut skirts, tops and dresses.
Surprisingly these shapes suit most women and you only need to be concerned with what length is right for you.
Bringing these styles to life isn t hard.
Grab yourself a new handbag and some savvy heels and you are as good and ready for anything.
Sleeves are my absolute favorite addition and one of the key features this summer which have continued to prove popular on all styles.
Fitted or flowing, ladies are relishing in the fact that they can leave the cardi at home and enjoy the full line of the outfit.
You might want to stock up however, as I have never seen them done so well and become so mainstream in most collections as who knows it may all change with the wind and you will struggle the keep the wardrobe stocked.
Details on sleeves are giving dresses flair and femininity softening our look and showing off a nicer silhouette.
Relaxed dressing is making an impact too.
Taking one dress and working it over with accessories can take you from work to dinner out .
Belts, big earrings, bangles and hair combs are necessities and with fun oversized bags on trend you can fill them with everything and a change of shoes.
Flat shoes are the hottest staple this summer and the plainer the better.
Nude, tan, cream, black or metallic flats can compliments anything from rolled up jeans, pants to a maxi dress.
Stilettos are getting higher and higher and far more interesting than they have ever been.
Just walking into a shoe shop these days can knock out your senses.
I have never seen so much colour, shape and design as the current seasons have shown and its so hard to stop at one pair.
Buying shoes has become a special event these days as some unique points of difference with service, are capturing our imagination.
Even our wardrobes are having to cater to looking after our shoes more as these days they are often what pulls the entire outfit together and we have one pair for each look Over the next few months the need for special occasion wear is high.
Peninsula shopping will be at its best and your one on service cannot compare with our gorgeous boutiques.
Christmas hopefully allowed us to show off our new everything and New Year gives us a chance to glam up Early January will be time for maxi dresses and wedges for the Polo and the Peninsula is always a buzz and will get fired up in readiness for the fabulous racing event, the Mornington Cup on February 15th.
It s not too early to get organized as only weeks or so to go.
No matter what your fashion choices may be over the festive season, remember everything goes better with a happy smile.
Be confident in what you wear, own your look and have fun.
Shop, Shop, Shop Stay safe and look out for some exciting Goodlife fashion events early in the New Year.
