A transformation has taken place at the former Pelican Pantry on WesternPort Bay No longer a training venue it has been restyled with new floors, a refreshed interior reflecting the blue of the bay and the appropriately re-named Pelican Waterfront Caf now takes full advantage of its unique location.
You can literally step off the terrace and onto the boardwalk.
Most significantly the new owner operator and well known Peninsula local, Scott Elks, with his team of highly qualified chefs, are showcasing local produce and wine -matching the fabulous outlook with new mouth-watering menus designed to please visitors and locals.
Drop in for breakfast or coffee and watch the breathtaking sunrises.
Stay for lunch or afternoon tea - dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Waterfront caf is licensed and you can enjoy a glass of wine, a local pinot or cider inside or on the terrace.
As for coffee, they serve a flawless cup of Victoria blend roasted fresh daily - smooth and creamy every time and at the Waterfront they also offer 11 types of teas.
The food is fabulous too with fresh seafood and mussels, pasta, funky caf food a predominance of local produce on a menu that stretches to full a la carte ON Friday and Saturday evenings - 45 pp choose from 3 gorgeous entrees and mains or delicious desserts.
A favourite with many are afternoon delights on the deck whilst watching the sun go down - locally made cakes, freshly baked tarts and slices which also make for a great light lunch, or try their gourmet focaccias.

On the other side of Main Street Deli is now the Leaf and Bean Renovated and refurbished by new owners Jonty Reason and his partner, local teacher Donna Johnstone it is now a relaxed and inviting coffee lounge with luxurious leather sofas and more seats outside in both Main Street and Albert Street.
The coffee has changed too - they now exclusively sell the well known Jasper brand of premium coffee and the menu at Leaf now includes a wide range of fresh baked Pizzas and Quesadillas as well as the old favourites like the toasted focaccias and quiches.
Main Sail Main Street Connor Sweeney has taken over Main Sail and whilst retaining the best of the old you will notice a big change.
Connor has great credentials and solid ideas when it comes to caf culture.
Main Sail is now licensed and he has also introduced a menu reflecting the casual beachside ambience of Mornington.
With appeal across the board I know many will return frequently to indulge in the fabulous 'Cake This' range of cupcakes he now carries.
